Our Weekend Arabic Programme in Manchester is designed for students aged 16+ who want to gain fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding Arabic. The course runs from September 2025 to July 2026.


Using proven teaching methods and the Miftah Al-Arabiyya curriculum, students progress step-by-step from mastering the alphabet to holding confident conversations and reading Arabic texts with understanding.

By the end of the year, depending on their starting level, students will be able to:

  • Accurately read and write Arabic script.

  • Understand and apply core Arabic grammar (nahw) and morphology (sarf).

  • Hold conversations on everyday topics with clarity and confidence.

  • Comprehend and engage with Arabic texts: from simple dialogues to structured passages.

  • Build a strong foundation for further Arabic and Islamic studies.

FOUNDATION LEVEL

In this level, learners master the Arabic alphabet and essential vocabulary, and begin forming basic grammar structures and sentences. The program covers listening, speaking, reading, and writing through Miftah Al-Arabiyya's companion books: one focused on speaking & listening, the other on reading & writing. Students gain the confidence to engage in simple conversations and written expression.

LEVEL 1

Building on the Foundation Level, this course expands vocabulary and introduces more complex grammar structures. Students practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing through guided exercises, dialogues, and written tasks, gaining confidence in everyday communication.

LEVEL 2

At this stage, learners move beyond the basics to engage with longer texts, apply grammar more accurately, and express themselves in fuller sentences. The focus is on building fluency through structured reading, writing, and conversations in everyday contexts.
